Listen in to this spirited conversation as Jude Abell and Liz Walsh chat about the many and winding paths into, around, within and adjacent to architecture at the 2018 Hobart Autumn Salon.
Our conversationalists for this episode are Judith Abell and Liz Walsh. They share stories of growing up in small rural places, surrounded by people inventing and making – designing in all but name. Trained in both architecture and fine art, Jude is also Public Art Coordinator for Hobart. She describes her career so far as like “throwing spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks”, and tells stories moving back and forth between architecture and fine art, between Hobart and London. Liz, already a much-awarded architect and an associate at Cumulus, was expecting her first child at the time of this Salon in 2018. She is optimistic, if slightly apprehensive, about what the future might bring.
This session from the 2018 Hobart Autumn Salon was recorded live on Muwinina Country at the Brickworks Studio on 2 May 2018. Held in collaboration with The Findlay Project, it was supported by Parlour Partner AWS. Photographs: Loic Le Guilly.
