The Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) has been running a youth survey specifically designed to capture the perspectives, aspirations and challenges of young architects and architecture students across the Commonwealth. Due to strong engagement and widespread interest, the deadline for the survey has been extended to 31 July 2025.

As the world faces pressing challenges such as climate change, urbanisation, and the need for sustainable development, young voices are more critical than ever in shaping the future of the profession and the built environment. This survey provides a platform for emerging professionals and students to share their insights, ensuring that policy, education and training reflect their needs and ambitions.

The survey is open to all young architects, architecture students, and emerging professionals aged 18 – 35 from Commonwealth countries. The CAA has already received over 500 responses and the extended deadline aims to capture even more perspectives on the challenges facing the next generation of architects. Findings from the survey will be compiled into a comprehensive report, which will be shared with industry leaders, policymakers and academic institutions to drive positive change in late 2025.

The survey can be accessed via CAA Microsoft Forms and will remain open until 31 July 2025.
