Join Andever for the 2023 Preparing for Practice Mentorship Program – a mentoring opportunity for female and gender-diverse architecture students in their final year of a Master’s program.
“Approximately 40 percent of women architectural graduates are not entering or being retained long-term in the industry. Surprisingly women begin to leave very early, including straight after finishing university, where their industry participation rate is 1–2 percentage points lower than graduation numbers.”
Karen Burns, 2014
Preparing for Practice, initiated in 2015, is back! With mentors Amelia Cloney, Farheen Dossa, Michael Smith and Sonia Sarangi, the program offers “real world” insights and focuses on transitioning from university into architectural practice. Andever welcomes female and gender-diverse Master’s students looking to enter the architectural profession in the next 12 months to apply for this program, especially those looking to define career objectives and better prepare and inform themselves for the future.
A maximum of six participants will be chosen, and there will be no cost. These group sessions will be held after-hours at the Andever office in Carlton from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on 13 July, 10 August and 7 September. The individual coffee-sessions are flexible, based on arrangements with an assigned mentor.
To apply, please email expressions of interest by 3 July to info@andever.com.au, and include a current resume and cover letter outlining why you would like to be part of the program.
