The second round of the Alastair Swayn Foundation grants program for 2024 is accepting applications until 30 August 2024.

The Alastair Swayn Foundation is offering $15,000 for their International Research Grant, aiming to fund innovative and academic international research into a project that aligns with the Foundation’s purposes and facilitates a dialogue between international and Australian design practice.

Alastair Swayn International Grant recipient, Hilary Duff, undertook a research, sculpture, podcast and event series investigating circular design in the built environment. Through a series of insightful interviews, Hilary engaged with architects, urban planners, builders, scientists, politicians, craftspeople and community members throughout Europe to unravel the stories behind materials, projects, urban developments, and the people shaping cities.

Design Audio Grants of $8,000 will fund the production of quality audio content on architecture or design for the benefit of the Australian design community. The audio content can take the form of a radio or podcast series, a mini-series or season/s, or a recorded open lecture/discourse series. Applications are welcome from emerging and established radio and podcast content creators or
broadcasters.

Parlour was a recipient of a recent Design Audio Grant, which helped develop our podcast (Parlour POD) to share the wide-ranging and diverse stories of lives in and around architecture and the built environment.
