Parlour’s Action in the Field series documents the wide variety of projects and groups working to increase diversity and equity in the architecture and built environment professions around the world.

At Parlour we are well aware that we build on the important work of women who have come before us and also work in parallel with groups around the world to increase diversity and equity in the architecture and built environment professions.

Each group has their own priorities, strengths, strategy and focus – whether it be advocacy around policy, campaigning against manels, networking and sharing stories, or highlighting and celebrating the work of the under-recognised and invisible. Each is working hard to make a difference. We salute them.

In our efforts to record and recognise the enormous amount of activity in recent years, we hope to inspire others who have ambitions to start their own groups by providing concrete examples of what can be done, and how to proceed.

Get involved

We invite groups to share information and stories about their beginnings, their motivations, activities and projects, and any plans for future action. If you would like to participate in our series, please head to the Action in the Field Google form and fill in the template, or email us directly at hello@parlour.org.au if you have any questions.
