Designing with fire

LAB 24 explores the impact of fire on the built environment and the role of built environment professionals in managing the risk of fire. This aims to improve community safety and awareness of unseen social, cultural, economic and other unseen impacts of fire on the built environment. We ask, What is the scale of impact from fire in Australia? In an era of climate disruption, how do we identify at-risk locations and how do we manage them? What are the strategies for designing for fire risk in different locations?

Watch this for a fascinating session with Rob Stent and Raphaële Blanchi in conversation with conveners Kali Marnane and Kelum Palipane, and special appearance by Deborah Swan.

This session was recorded live on 20 October 2023.
