Parlour is conducting a comprehensive survey to help understand the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the people of Australian architecture and the built environment. This survey will help us understand the demographics, working environments and wellbeing of our broad community.
THE SURVEY HAS NOW CLOSED. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED. WE ARE NOW ANALYSING THE RESULTS
TAKE THE WORK & WELLBEING SURVEY NOW!
This survey is a collaboration between Parlour, the Architects Champions of Change and the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia. Together, we want to identify significant changes in work arrangements and circumstances, to explore which new aspects are valued, and what people would like to take forward into the workplaces of the future.
The Work & Wellbeing survey will provide the data to support individuals, practices and organisations as they consider next steps and future plans. The survey is open to everyone who is part of the Australian architectural community, very broadly defined.
The survey is quite comprehensive. It will take you about 20 minutes. So, grab a cup of tea (or beverage of your choice), settle in and tell us about your circumstances and how you are going.
The results will also inform the upcoming research project “Architectural Work Cultures: professional identity, education and wellbeing”, led by Professor Naomi Stead.
Thanks for contributing!
The fine print
Any information you provide through the survey will not be linked to you personally in the public dissemination of the findings, and only Parlour researchers will have access to identifying information. Quotation gathered from free text fields may be reproduced in publications resulting from the survey; however, these will not be attributed to specific respondents. No potentially identifying information will be given, unless approved by the individual in follow up discussions. The de-identified results of the survey may also be used by Parlour in other publications. The de-identified database will also be made available to the research project led by Professor Naomi Stead, “Architectural Work Cultures: professional identity, education and wellbeing”. De-identified data will be accessible to partners to the project.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the development of this survey – Justine Clark, Gill Matthewson, Naomi Stead, Susie Ashworth, Maryam Gusheh, Brian Cooper, Julie Wolfram Cox, Monica Edwards, Chi Melhem, Thihoa Gill, Ben Green and Gemma McDonald, and to all those who helped us test it.

Hi ArchiParlour,
I’ve been watching with keen interest as you drop tantalising glimpses of feedback to this survey on social media. Really fab and insightful. Thank you!
Is the feedback only on social media, currently? I can’t see your piecharts of data on the website yet. Perhaps you want to do analysis first? That said, I would love to share your social media posts with some workplace designers and stakeholders, without having to use social media.
The questions asked are better than most COVID surveys I’ve seen. Great work!
HH
