Out of Line – a Salon with Catherine Griffiths
22 May 2025
6—8pm
Join Parlour and the Melbourne School of Design for a very special Parlour Salon. Catherine Griffiths – artist, designer and agitator – is joining Justine Clark for an intimate conversation within the space of the solo exhibition, Catherine Griffiths: Out of Line.

This lively conversation between two close collaborators and friends will explore the commitments, concerns and contexts that motivate Catherine Griffiths’ extraordinary body of work and its engagement with public life.
Catherine has collaborated with Parlour since its inception in 2012 (and first worked with Justine in 1999). Her exquisite work, wit and rigour has been fundamental to Parlour’s impact and activity; her advocacy on gender equity within graphic design has paralleled Parlour’s. This thought-provoking discussion is an opportunity to delve into the larger context of Catherine’s practice, advocacy and activism, while surrounded by her fantastic oeuvre.
As with all Parlour events, this is also an opportunity for convivial connection and meaningful engagement between and among attendees – over refreshments and within the exhibition.
To get in the mood, watch Catherine speak at the 2019 Parlour / MSD symposium, Transformations: Action on Equity.
