Are you independent? Adventurous? Looking for a chance to use your architecture skills to give back to the community? The Anganwadi Project might just be the volunteer opportunity for you.
The Anganwadi Project (TAP) is an Australian grass-roots not-for-profit organisation, which designs and builds preschools in the slums of Ahmedabad, India. The project is run collaboratively by TAP and an Indian NGO, Manav Sadhna.
TAP is currently interviewing for several positions. Successful applicants will live and work in Ahmedabad for a minimum of four months, and will be involved in the design and construction of its 16th preschool. This year there will be two teams – one will head over to India in late September/October 2016, and the other will tag-team in January 2017. Applicants should have a minimum of two years post-graduate experience, including experience liaising with builders on site.
