Parlour Kiosk is our friendly one-stop counter for all Parlour purchases – you can book for an upcoming event or access a recording from Parlour Live, our abundant and ever-growing collection of video recordings – most with CPD. In the future we will have merchandise available too.

Overview

The Kiosk has many advantages:

  • The Kiosk integrates with the Parlour Collective database. When you are signed into your Collective account you will automatically get Collective pricing, and a clear record of any complimentary tickets available.
  • All purchases are made through one place – no more switching between Trybooking and Vimeo.
  • The Kiosk includes a clear record of all purchases, conveniently located in the Payments & Invoices tab of your account page.
  • All video purchases through the Kiosk are available in the Library tab of your account page.

You now need to be logged into your Parlour account to make bookings or purchase recordings. This enables access to relevant discounts, group prices and complimentary tickets. It also provides easy access to receipts and records, and means you need only supply core information once.

We have worked hard to make this a simple and clear experience, and we are confident you will get used to it quickly. That said, this is a new system and therefore different to what you are accustomed to. If you need a bit of assistance to navigate the Kiosk, check out the information below, including FAQs. Please get in touch if you experience a glitch – and please be understanding about any teething problems.

The Parlour Kiosk replaces previous booking systems in Trybooking and Vimeo on demand. Most 2025 events will be booked through the Kiosk and we are progressively moving all video recordings over.

Pricing

We have reviewed and rationalised the pricing on all tickets. The pricing enables us to run the event programs sustainably – it covers the costs of delivery, including offering honorariums to speakers and convenors. Any profit from events is used to support further Parlour work. Profit from the Deadly Djurumin Yarns supports Deadly Djurumin.

One ticket per person

Event and video recording tickets are one per person. If you are booking for events or recordings to be viewed by more than one person, please purchase the appropriate number of tickets. In the Parlour Kiosk these are called ‘seats’ – please purchase the number of seats you need!

This is an honesty system. Please remember that Parlour is a small non-profit organisation that does a huge amount on limited budgets. Please don’t rip us off!

Collective discounts

The people and practices that are part of the Parlour Collective have a 33% discount on the General pricing of all tickets. This is automatically applied when booking via a logged-in Parlour Collective account. Parlour Collective people and practices also have access to additional group pricing discounts, and the upper levels also include complimentary tickets.

Group booking discounts

We encourage people and practices to attend events and watch recordings together – and to use these as a catalyst for further discussion. To support this, we offer group discounts for the people and practices that have joined the Parlour Collective. These apply automatically when booking.

Group purchase discounts are as follows:

  • 10–19 tickets – 5% discount on top of Parlour Collective discount
  • 20–49 tickets – 10% discount on top of Parlour Collective discount
  • 50+ tickets – 15% discount on top of Parlour Collective discount

You must be logged in to your Parlour Collective account to access these group discounts. Note: group discounts are not available to Parlour Starters.

Concessions

Concession pricing is available for those in tight financial circumstances. For individuals in the Parlour Collective, the concession discount is a 66% discount on the General ticket price. For those who have not joined the Collective, the concession discount is 50% of the General ticket.

Pay it forward tickets

We understand that life circumstances ebb and flow, and that sometimes even the concession pricing is too much. If you find yourself in this situation, please send us an email and we will arrange a comp ticket. We don’t want cost to be a barrier, and are also planning to set up a ‘pay it forward’ system to help ensure that no one misses out.

Accessing concessions

Concession ticketing is available for those in tight financial circumstances – students, those out of work and anyone else who needs it. The system for accessing concession pricing has now changed, and is slightly different for different cohorts.

Concession pricing is activated via the Concessions page. Concessions are active for a quarter. This includes 5 concession tickets per quarter. These are accessed by using a code. At the end of the quarter the code expires. If you still need the concession, simply reactivate for the next quarter.

People who are Parlour Starters, Parlour Enthusiasts or Parlour Aficionados can activate concession pricing by simply clicking a button on the Concessions page.

People who are outside this cohort can obtain access to concession pricing by sending us a quick email.


Parlour Live! video recordings

Access to video recordings is now via the Parlour Kiosk. Once purchased, you have access to the recording for 72 hours after you begin watching. All recordings accessed via the Kiosk can be found in the Library tab of your account page.

Recordings purchased via the previous Vimeo on Demand system can still be found in your Vimeo account. (We are unable to transfer these as Vimeo does not tell us who has purchased what.)

Video recordings of purchased events

When you buy a ticket to a Parlour CPD event you also gain access to the recording of the session. This is available a week or two after the event. All event recordings include carefully edited captions by our excellent video editor, Shing Hei Ho.

Once the video is available, the code to access can be found in two places – on the order details in the Payments & Invoices tab of your account page, and in the Library tab of your account page. We will also send you an email to let you know that it is available.

Recordings of events obtained via an event booking from 2024 or earlier are accessed via the direct link that was emailed to you when the recording was released.


Collective comps & discounts

You must be logged into your Parlour Collective account to access Parlour Collective pricing and the complimentary tickets.

The Parlour Kiosk makes it easier for Parlour Collective practices to purchase tickets for people in the practice and to access and distribute the complimentary tickets that are available for the mid and top tiers. We recommend that this is coordinated and managed by one or two people within the practice..

Collective comp tickets & codes

Complimentary tickets are offered in the mid and upper tiers of the Parlour Collective. To access these, used the comp code found in the Library & Codes tab of your account page. This includes a tally of how many comp tickets are available and how many have been used to date.

You can use the code to book for live events for yourself and others.

Within a practice, the person managing ticket access can distribute the code to colleagues. They can use the practice comp code to access comp tickets when logged in to their own account. (Note: managing usage is the responsibility of the practice.)

Users of the code can also log in and access any video recordings and associated cpd. Videos are available for 72 hours per session.

Complimentary codes cannot be resold, and should not be distributed beyond your immediate circle.

Buying tickets – for yourself, your staff and others

To purchase tickets for events, you must first log into your Parlour Collective account. This provides automatic access to Parlour Collective discounts and additional group booking discounts.

If you are booking on behalf of others, please distribute the event details and access information to those you booked for.

Each purchase includes a code. This enables a person to view an event’s recording and to earn cpd points.

If more than one person is to watch the recording then select the appropriate number of people when buying tickets. The owner can give the code to anyone they choose. The recipient of the code will need to log into their own Parlour account to use the code and view the recording (this is because everyone needs to be logged into an account to access the Parlour Kiosk.


FAQs

Where are my Vimeo On Demand purchases?

For legal reasons Vimeo is unable to provide us with the names of people buying videos. We hope to come up with a system to import those titles to your library, but in the meantime please continue to view those purchases at Vimeo. Please retain your invoices as proof of purchase as these may prove useful in the future integration

I have purchased access to a recording for someone else. Where do I find the code for them to use?

The code is on the order details. You can find this via the Payments and Invoices tabs on your account page, or by clicking ‘order details’ at the bottom of the item in your Library. It will also have been emailed to you.
