Katherine Gifford is an architect based in Brisbane. Katherine has worked for Jeremy Salmon Architect in Auchenflower, Brisbane, for almost two decades as project architect on a wide variety of new and renovated homes with the occasional commercial project. Katherine continues to work for Jeremy whilst running her own practice in recent years.

Sustainability is integral to Katherine’s design approach and the long-term accessibility of projects is always considered. Jeremy Salmon Architect’s work has frequently been recognised by the Australian Institute of Architects awards program. ‘Nanna’s Verandah’, a project for which Katherine was project designer, was recognised for its superior sustainable design by the Australian Institute of Architect’s Queensland State Award and a Regional Commendation in Residential Design. Katherine is a member of the sustainability committee of the Australian Institute of Architecture Queensland Chapter.

Katherine has tutored second year design and currently tutors first and second year building technology at the University of Queensland Architecture Department.
