Kali Marnane

Associate Director
Urbis

Kali is an architect, urban designer, engagement consultant, and researcher currently based in Brisbane. Alternating between strategic and physical design, Kali focuses on repairing, repurposing, and revisioning existing places to create thriving neighbourhoods.

Kali has experience delivering educational, retail, housing and mixed-use projects in Australia and in disadvantaged communities in India and Nepal. She was awarded a PhD from The University of Queensland in 2021 on how people use and value public space in informal settlements in Ahmedabad, India.

Kali is interested in how practice and research can work together to create more equitable and joyful futures. She is curating the latest edition of Parlour's online talk series - Parlour LAB - to open a conversation between practice and research.

When Kali is not working, she can usually be found in the garden, at the beach or exploring somewhere new!
