I DESIGN BUILDINGS & SPACES
#facades #facadespecialist #facadeengineering #circulareconomy #netzero

Studying Fine Arts at the beginning of my career, then studying Architecture, I have recently completed the MSc Façade Engineering course in Bristol, to further design research and expertise in facades. An interest is to synthesise fine arts, architecture, and engineering thinking, my dissertation topic was ‘design for dis-assembly, future design practices of facades’, looking at the life-cycle of façade systems and materials in the circular economy.

In Australia I worked full time in various large architecture practices, whilst attending university part-time. Early projects include working as a site architect on novated projects with contractors such as Lend Lease and Multiplex. I also received independent commissions for residential projects and continued to be an exhibiting artist.

After 15years working in large commercial practices in Australia, I embarked on a sabbatical to learn German in Switzerland and remained in Zürich for 5 years. Here I was involved in leading various creative design roles, including façade design. Living and working in Europe gave me exposure to a high standard of technical design deployed by Swiss/German/Austrian culture. Now in London, I have worked mainly leading projects in contract architectural roles, for the technical and delivery phase of projects (RIBA stages 3-5), up-front project bids OJEU (eoi) tenders including assembling teams, and client management.

Leadership roles include elected as MSc course representative and elected international Chapter Councillor for the Australian Institute of Architects, including as deputy chair.
