Vanessa is an architect and co-founder of Bird de la Coeur Architects. The studio specialises in housing, including multi-residential housing and social housing for government organisations. After more than 25 years in practice, their work is widely published and has received numerous industry awards.

Vanessa is a former Director and Nationally Elected Councilor of the Australian Institute of Architects and a past Victorian Chapter President. She is a keen advocate for the betterment of the built environment and the community benefits of good design.

Vanessa is a Director of Architecture Media, and a founding member of Melbourne City Council’s Melbourne Design Review Panel. She was made a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects in 2022.
