Nicole Mechkaroff
Senior ArchitectNicole is an architect with over 18 years’ experience delivering public projects, including educational, community and rail infrastructure. She enjoys working with complex multi-stakeholder and user groups and is interested in how transdisciplinarity can positively impact the delivery of equitable built environments.
As a senior architect and collaborator, Nicole facilitates workshops with stakeholders, user groups and design teams in brief development, strategy making and urban analysis. She strives to show a form of leadership in projects that welcomes diverse voices and enables others to contribute valuable knowledge and experience with mutual respect.
Nicole is an Australian representative and Member of the UIA Educational and Cultural Spaces Work Programme, and was former president of civil society organisation Architects for Peace. She develops workshops and panel discussions, publishes collaborative research, and enjoys contributing to strategic working groups. Her professional research and writing focuses on how built environment planning and development processes can achieve equitable outcomes by involving diverse actors, sectors and disciplines.
Nicole enjoys working with people, engaging in deep discussion, and encourages active contribution from a diverse range of stakeholders and user groups to inform design decisions.
