With half her career in Copenhagen, Olivia Chylinski is an Interior Designer at Bates Smart. Her global experience spans 12 years, varying between the luxury hospitality and workplace sectors, at different scales and complexities. Understanding core principles of Danish, human-first design, Olivia brings a multitude of skills from key projects such as 18-key hotel, The Largo in UNESCO listed city, Porto to a twin-tower at 2 Finsbury Avenue in London and workplace in Fukuoka, Japan.
She is skilled in delivering a client’s vision, with a keen eye for detail, early spatial concepts, approach, and materiality, underpinned with her construction documentation and project management experience. Olivia’s expertise in Scandinavian form and simplicity, aids her ambition to expand and lead 3XN interiors into the Australian market. Within the studio, Olivia is passionate about how behaviour, multisensorial design and colour is integrated in interior design from early project conception to completion. Inspiring staff and providing tangible methods to unfold this research into practice.
With a strong interest in education, she also was an Academic Tutor at UNSW in Sydney for the Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree. Out of hours, Olivia also the founder of stationery studio, The Brown Paper Movement.
