Sau Chin Michelle Lam

Graduate Landscape Architecr
TCL

Growing up in Hong Kong, which is a concrete jungle with a disconnected sense of neighbourhood, has shaped Michelle’s interest in biophilic design.

She is passionate about the social responsibility and healing power of landscape architecture. She looks for opportunity to create a therapeutic and memorable landscape for different users in the communities.

She has been involved in different scale of projects, from waterfront promenade, arboretum, wetland park recreation to plaza hotel and residential. She is sensitive to the site context and respect the site stories. She has successful experience in blending the historical cultural elements into the design with rebranding strategies in competitions.

After an opportunity in working with the mental health hospital interior design and the emerging mental health crisis during COVID-19, she has started doing research on how landscape could assist in the healing process.
