Amber Young

Amber Young is a current Graduate of Architecture at Architectus and a Master of Architecture Deans Honours Award recipient from the University of Melbourne. She is currently working in the commercial sector. She has worked with several organisations including UN Habitat, Innivate4Cities, the Connected Cities Lab and Learning Environments Applied Research Network (LEaRN) on conference publications and exhibitions relating to sustainable cities and schools as community hubs. Centred around a site in her hometown Canberra, her Master of Architecture thesis focussed on how “The Meeting Place” can be reinterpreted to engage all generations to exchange creative knowledge. It also explored the site’s adjacency to Aranda Primary School and integration of pedagogical approaches between the school curriculum, existing community groups in the area and the skills of local residents, aiming to facilitate of positive social capital and collaborative experiences between students and the surrounding neighbourhood.
