Stefenie Lai

Stefenie Lai is a Research Associate at Yerrabingin and an academic researcher in architecture theory and history, currently based at the University of Sydney. Her research interests focus on the politics of space and spatial justice, with a particular emphasis on the role of architecture in achieving embodied justice through design and intervention.
Stefenie is heavily involved in research work related to informal settlements and Indigenous reconciliation through architecture. Her research in this area aims to explore the potential of architecture to address social inequality and promote spatial justice for marginalised communities. Her work has been presented in various academic publications, including the Journal of Architectural Research and Development.
In addition to her research, Stefenie is also involved in teaching architecture design studio at the University of Sydney.
