Emma Dohrmann
Graduate of ArchitectureSwanbury Penglase
Emma has spent the past four years working with one of the leading heritage architecture teams in South Australia, after being awarded the Swanbury Penglase Architecture Grant (2018) in her Master of Architecture studies at the University of South Australia. During this time, she has worked across a diverse range of projects and had the opportunity to work collaboratively with other disciplines.
Emma has enjoyed developing her skillset in heritage architecture and she strongly believes that her experience in the heritage realm has proven to be a great lens through which to view all other projects, especially when considering research and storytelling, responding to all contexts, and sustainability. She believes that heritage requires you to understand a place, and then do what’s right by it; a good foundation for any architectural project, not just those that are heritage-listed.
She is an active member of both the EmAGN SA Committee and the AIA Heritage Committee, having organised a variety of successful heritage events for the emerging architects & graduates demographic.
Having taken two ‘gap years’ in between her Bachelor and Masters degrees to travel Europe and parts of Asia and the Middle East, Emma is passionate about travelling and experiencing architecture and culture firsthand.
