Amy Fitzpatrick
Senior ArchitectClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects
Amy is an emerging leader in ClarkeHopkinsClarke’s education team and the broader architectural industry. Engaged, energetic and highly motivated, Amy embraces every opportunity for positive impact: on her projects, throughout our practice, and within the broader architectural community.
An avid learner, Amy found her niche in educational design as an architecture student. It was through her studies with Dr Ben Cleveland and a presentation by our Education Partners, Wayne Stephens and Simon LeNepveu, that she discovered the depth, collaboration and positive impact possible through innovative educational environments and community focussed design.
Amy loves the bespoke nature of schools and the way they embrace diverse typologies from STEM centres to games halls and community hubs. A self-described theory nerd, she’s also fascinated by the teaching and learning research that underpins these environments. As a project leader she’s an adaptable all-rounder who’s involved at every stage, from briefing through design and documentation to construction and delivery. Clients and colleagues appreciate her calm positivity and drive to achieve a great outcome for all concerned.
Her drive extends beyond projects to the architectural community. Amy loves a challenge, connecting and learning with likeminded people, and paying forward some of the positive mentoring experiences that have influenced her career. She’s currently an active committee member of EmAGN (the AIA’s Emerging Architects and Graduate Network) and a tutor in the University of Melbourne’s Masters subject Building the Brief: People Process Place. She has been a mentor in the University of Melbourne Architecture, Building and Planning mentoring program, a guest panellist at the New Generation Learning Space Design Summit and an LEA Mayfield Project recipient and conference speaker.
An avid traveller, adventurer and athlete, Amy has spent time in London working on community projects, completed a TU Delft Master of Architecture exchange in the Netherlands and collaborated with a school community in Nepal as part of an Architects Without Frontiers expedition. She has also cycled 800kms across Thailand raising $10,000 for the charity Hands Across the Water, an opportunity presented by its Future of Leadership conference series.
