Alison Huynh
Architect / Associate DirectorBates Smart
I am an architect and master planner with an interest in healthcare, mental health, urban design, and the public domain. I have worked across a wide range of projects scales and types, though I typically have a strategic role in establishing the design direction; project goals; and stakeholder engagement processes. I tend to focus on the bigger picture, working in a team environment with talented designers, planners and consultants.
I am interested in projects that are committed to a holistic approach to health and wellness through inclusive, accessible design. My aim is to combine practice and research and build my profile as thought-leader. I would also like to work more in urban planning and urban design, as I believe there is great potential to enhance health and wellness for everyone in the community through great planning and policy development.
I am a Board Member of the Australian Health Design Council, with an active role in planning and curating events that promote health design. I have some experience in teaching and tutoring in a range of different settings, and enjoy mentoring graduates and emerging architects.
