Sarah Aldridge

Sarah is a registered architect in both NSW and the UK, living and practising on Bundjalung Country in Byron Bay. Sarah is Director of architecture practice Space Studio, whose work encompasses residential, commercial, educational and hospitality projects. Sarah’s extensive design and project management experience has provided her with a high level of expertise in client liaison and an understanding of complex projects and the importance of community consultation.

Sarah is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and Secretary of the Regional Architecture Association. In both organisations Sarah has advocated for and supported sustainable regional practice as the obvious way to ensure regional built environments evolve with an appropriate sense of localness and place.

Sarah studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London, passing her professional exams (part III) with distinction. She was a Part III examiner at the Architectural Association (AA) in London before relocating to Australia. In parallel with practice work Sarah was Associate Professor of Architecture at Bond University, establishing and teaching Masters of Professional Practice courses, and undergraduate technology and design studio.

Sarah is passionate about the visibility of women in our profession and the options for combining work and family life.
