Gemma MacDonald

Studio Manager
DKO Architecture

Living and working on Gadigal land.

I am an anthropology graduate from Goldsmiths College London, where I completed an in-depth research study on the redevelopment proposals for the Smithfield Market in Farringdon, considering urban anthropology theory on the museumification of cities. My experience in design studio management began in London.

Currently studio manager at DKO Architecture's Sydney studio, I support all administrative; facilities management; communications and generalist HR requirements.

I am passionate about sustainability and designing with Country, and am contributing to drafting our Sustainability Action Plan and Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan. An Implementation Leader for Champions of Change since 2019 I also participate in the AIA NSW Chapter Gender Equity Taskforce.

In addition, I am also an active member of the AHRI and slowly working towards a Masters of Human Resource Management.
