Isla McRobbie
Partner: Projects, Infrastructure and ConstructionJackson McDonald
I am a construction lawyer (partner) in the construction, projects and infrastructure team at Jackson McDonald. I have more than 30 years experience in the building and construction industry generally, ten of which were as a practicing architect and the remainder as a lawyer in the construction sector. As a construction lawyer, I work predominantly in the "front end", advising a broad cross section of clients on procurement options, contract drafting and negotiating and identifying and managing risk in contracts. My clients range from Principals, developers, government clients and consultants to contractors, subcontractors and others. I have a keen and ongoing interest in the architecture profession and construction sector more broadly. I am currently the Chair of the Architects Board of Western Australia, a board member of Master Builders WA and an enthusiastic supporter of (and education committee member) of NAWIC WA. I always look to work with my clients to really understand their business and the issues affecting them, and believe that my broad experience in differing roles within the sector helps me to do that.
