Georgia Lindsay

Senior Lecturer
University of Tasmania, School of Architecture & Design

Georgia is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture & Design at the University of Tasmania.

Her research focuses on the human experience of architecture, with a special interest in how civic and cultural buildings (like museums and libraries) operate in the social field. She has written a book on the user experience of museum architecture, available through Routledge. She publishes papers on architecture and media, on how green buildings communicate sustainable values, and on museum architecture generally. She has also consulted on post-occupancy evaluations of museum exhibitions, libraries, and net-zero buildings.
When she teaches—mostly history and theory classes—she asks students to understand the context of buildings, hoping that the future architects in her classroom will design with a sensitivity to place and people.

Before coming to Tasmania, she lived in the United States, earning her PhD from the University of California Berkeley.
