Cathi is a registered architect in Victoria and NSW.
Cathi founded her practice, Cathi Colla Architects, in 2000 while studying Fine Art and teaching various architecture subjects at both RMIT and the University of Melbourne.
Cathi Colla Architects continues today, with a distinct focus on residential architecture and interior design, along with a holistic approach to sustainable design. The practice is based in Melbourne with projects located in Victoria and in NSW. Our practice currently boasts an all-female design team.
In the past Cathi has worked within a range of architectural practices, locations and cultures. Practices include Eisenman Architects (New York), Teun Koolhaas + Associates (the Netherlands), DCM (Melbourne), William Boag Architects (Melbourne), and Eeles Trelease (Sydney). This diversity of experience has provided Cathi the privilege to have worked on an extensive range of project types including urban design, multi-residential, private homes, civic projects including museums and galleries, high-rise, retail and mixed-use developments. All of these practices (and many of these projects) have won international acclaim for design quality.
Cathi studied architecture at Newcastle University, NSW, and has since completed a Fine Art degree at RMIT, specialising in sculpture. Cathi is an active member of the Institute of Architects (FRAIA) and Architeam Co-operative and is a keen advocate and supporter of women in our industry.
