Liza Neil
Principal ArchitectCity of Moreton Bay/Gomango Architects
Since July 2021, Liza has been specialising in analysis, strategy, assessment, and policy as the Principal Architect of the new City of Moreton Bay. She had previously spent 4 years as Principal at Sunshine Coast Council, after co-founding and 27 years of managing Gomango Architects, an award-winning practice in Caloundra, whilst juggling children and pets. Her career has been dedicated to eco and sustainable renos and new designs for resorts, houses, toilet blocks, education buildings and up to a large solar-powered, sustainable, regenerative factory. She was a Board Member of Creative Arts Alliance, is a Fellow of the AIA, Chair of the AIA Sunshine Coast, and member of QLD Regional Affairs, CASC and EDIC committees. Liza has worked for amazing architects from Tasmania, Byron Bay, Eumundi, and Whitsundays, has taught at 4 universities, but is now attempting postgraduate studies, whilst learning about Moreton Bay Region’s unique people, character, place, and climate.
