I am a qualified urban designer with 15 years' experience in both the public and private sectors. I have a highly developed understanding of the creative design process, which has been strengthened through my professional experience in urban design, planning, wayfinding and landscape architecture, as well my postgraduate academic studies and teaching roles.
My professional work and academic studies focus largely on the design of vibrant and active pedestrian-oriented streets, neighbourhoods and cities that facilitate walking, cycling and sustainable modes of transport. As both an urban designer and planner, I am interested in exploring the interrelationship between the two disciplines, particularly in how strategies can be implemented more effectively from ‘paper to the ground’ to achieve tangible and positive design outcomes.
