Lauren Clerey

Senior Associate

Lauren is an urban designer originally from the UK, now based in Melbourne, with 15+ years’ professional experience, both in the private and government sectors.

The inspiration for my career path early on, stemmed from a practical interest in cities and humanities, and what grew was the intrigue of the relationship between the two. Architecture, geography, landscape, history, economics, social behaviour and politics, all play a fundamental role in the planning system and the way we progress our approach to urban design and development. My career as an urban designer, is a passion to understand cities, how they function, how we use them, and how we can make them healthier, smarter, sustainable and profoundly more habitable.

My breadth of experience ranges from master planning, design guidance, policy formation, public consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration. I continue to enact an ambition to foster change, whilst having a vision, patience and design integrity. My professional development is underpinned by my willingness to learn, and my desire to share those learning’s with my peers and colleagues within my industry.
