APPARATUS: public art and cultural services

Helen established APPARATUS in 2014 and directs the core areas of art, place and culture. Helen trained as an artist, graduating from both the University of Western Australia and the Claremont School of Art in the late 1990s.

Helen has worked with a diverse range of clients including developers, builders, architects, landscape architects, interior designers and has particular experience in Local Government having lead the City of Perth arts and cultural development team for over a decade.

In project work, Helen has demonstrated expertise in creating
meaning in places through exploring heritage significance and local stories, ‘place based’ art and collaborative urban design. Helen has considerable knowledge in cultural heritage, social history and interpretation and has undertaken successful consultation with the Noongar community on numerous public art projects.
