Nicole Gardner
Senior Lecturer / ArchitectUNSW
I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Built Environment at UNSW and an Australian Registered Architect (NSW 7921). Drawing on over twelve years of practice experience in Adelaide, London and Sydney, my academic research investigates digital transformation, design technology adoption, and the future of work in architecture. Working from a socio-technical perspective, I explore emerging digital technologies and computational methods in the context of architectural design through the lenses of labour, gender, workplace learning and sustainable design. In the UNSW Bachelor of Computational Design, I convene courses on smart and responsive environments, the history and theory of architectural computing and urban technology, and applied action design research. I am committed to modes of research and teaching that connect theory and practice and researchers and industry.
