Maryam Shafiei

Maryam Shafiei is a researcher, educator, designer and maker. She holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of Queensland, a Master of Architecture from Art University of Tehran, and BSc in Architectural Engineering from the University of Tehran. She worked as a registered Architect in Iran and taught in universities in Iran and Australia. Maryam's PhD focused on the typology of changes and housing patterns in remote settlements. Her recent works employ computational design approaches and new construction technologies such as robotic additive manufacturing for positive development of remote settlements. She also has a strong passion for advanced visualisation and design technologies such as Virtual and Augmented Reality, aiming for appropriating advanced technologies for less-experienced users in design and manufacturing.
