Azin is experienced in managing strategic heritage studies, community engagement, writing heritage impact statements, condition reports and schedule of conservation works. Two years of working in heritage team in local government, six months in heritage branch QLD state government, and four years of researching on the relevance of international heritage guidelines and frameworks such as the holistic UNESCO historic urban landscape approach (HUL) to local contexts, Azin has developed sensitivity to local community values and their social associations with heritage sites. She is experienced in identifying participatory approaches that work with particular power matrixes in urban governance systems, organisational capacities and authorities.

Having a diverse educational background (Master of Interior Architecture (M.Arch.) and bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) from the University of Art, Tehran) has given Azin the capability to understand architecture from different perspectives, in different scales. Azin has completed her PhD (on challenges of managing a pilgrimage site in a non-democratic context) at the University of Queensland in 2023.

Azin has seven years of university teaching experience at the University of Queensland and University of Art (Tehran).

Azin is also experienced as Civil engineering assistant with responsibilities of preparing executive plans for architecture and civil supervisors and project contractors. Skilled in AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Microsoft Office, SketchUp, and Adobe Photoshop.
