Emma Rees-Raaijmakers is Principal and founder of Sydney multi-disciplinary practice Atelier DAU (Atelier for Design and Urbanism). Atelier DAU designs both private residences and urban interventions. Emma brings to Atelier DAU over 25-years of varied practice working on design and urban initiatives in Australia, Hong Kong and The Netherlands. Emma’s less-than-typical career path is built on a long-standing passion for public engagement in urban design through initiatives like the highly successful Archikidz program, which she created to engage and educate kids on architecture and urban design. Since launching in 2019, Atelier DAU's design excellence has been recognised both nationally and internationally by prestigious design award initiatives including Dezeen, Architizer and HOUSES. Atelier DAU was also invited to exhibit at the 2020 European Cultural Centre Biennale Architecture Exhibition in Venice.
