I am a Spanish architect who moved to Australia in 2014 to study a PhD (awarded in 2018) and pursue an academic career in architectural history.
In my research, I study of the writing of architectural history, its historiography, with a focus on the recent past and the ‘global.’ More specifically, I am interested in who writes history and what they had in mind when they did. I have been a part of the architectural communities of the University of Canberra and the University of Queensland. My research has been funded through scholarships and grants, and published in edited books and academic journals, and I have presented it at international conferences.
In 2020, as postdoctoral research fellow of the Australian Centre for Architectural History Urban and Cultural Heritage at the University of Melbourne, I am investigating the recent writing of architectural history in Australia and New Zealand.
