Associate, Architect | Design Studio Leader | WriterJohn Wardle Architects and the University of Melbourne
Ariani is a Melbourne-based architect with a strong interest in the interface between research, art and design practice. She is an Associate at John Wardle Architects and has worked on a number of award-winning public, education and commercial projects. Recent projects include the Bendigo Law Courts, the Nature and Science Precinct for the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, for the University of Melbourne.
Ariani is also a Design Studio Leader within the Master of Architecture program at the University of Melbourne and finds joy in working with students to interrogate big issues through design and critical thinking. She is active in the broader design community as a mentor and AIA committee member.
With an academic background in Art History and Philosophy she believes in the power of discourse and sharing ideas. This ethos led her to co-found Inflection, the student-run journal of the Melbourne School of Design, which has an ongoing legacy in the current student cohort. Alongside architecture and teaching she has her own art practice, has co-curated exhibitions and her work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale.
