Alison Phillips MUDD is an Urban Designer with over five years experience in masterplanning and public domain design. Alison works across strategic planning, large scale urban renewal projects, town centre masterplans, public domain design, design excellence, statutory planning and tactical urbanism.
Alison is committed to place-based, best practice, sustainable and community focused planning and design. In 2016 Alison was awarded the Inaugural Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship in which she undertook a nine month intensive leadership course. During this time in 2016 Alison travelled to Chongqing, China and Berlin, Germany where she undertook mentoring for University of New South Wales (UNSW) and completed a university project on an urban renewal site focusing on water sensitive urban design and sustainable reuse of water in high density environments.
Alison is deeply committed to mentoring planning and urban design students. She is a Sessional staff member at UNSW in which she has tutored Masters of City Planning and 4th year Bachelor of City Planning students.
As a mother Alison is also aware of balancing her role as a carer and her professional requirements, which reinforces her focus on equity, sustainability and equality both in the professional environment and urban realm.
