ArchitectLiminal Studio
Carly McMahon is an architect at Liminal Studio, a creatively agile think-tank that integrates design and architecture with the disciplines of interior design, furniture, object design, arts, curation and production design. Liminal’s collaborative and cross disciplinary approach is what inspired her to join the team in 2016.
Projects within the studio have allowed Carly to work with international architects WOHA and Snøhetta, and to learn from and gain insight into their approaches to collaborative practice. Carly values this generosity of sharing across practices and disciplines.
Carly’s engagement with her local architectural community has been ongoing since moving to Tasmania in 2006. Her work with EmAGN, Chapter Council and AIA Education Committee, as well as selection on the 2016 Tasmanian Architecture Awards Jury has allowed significant contribution to the profession.
Carly cites being part of the curatorial team for A Weekend Away - Tasmanian Narratives, a triennial conference held on Bruny Island, as a personal and professional highlight. Her work has been recognised as a recipient of the 2019 Institute of Architects Dulux Study Tour.
