Jemima Retallack

Director/ Architect
Retallack Thompson

Jemima is an award-winning architect and co-founding director of Retallack Thompson Architects.

Having worked as an associate at Candalepas Associates from 2011, Jemima formed Retallack Thompson with Mitchell Thompson in 2016. Retallack Thompson has an interest in creating timeless and enduring architecture with a focus on the human experience of place. They operate with the belief that there is latent beauty in all spaces and look to make the smallest of manoeuvres that render the greatest effect.

Through both her practice and research Jemima has an interest in examining the housing affordability issues facing contemporary cities. Her 2015 Byera Hadley Journal Series, All Together Now, examined loose fit co-housing and co-generational models of housing being employed in Australia, Asia and the USA.

Jemima is committed to promoting the value of good architecture through her teaching at the University of New South Wales and University of Technology Sydney. She is a recipient of the NSW Board of Architects Prize, the John Haskell Award and the Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship.
