I am an architect working for Arcke, a young Brisbane-based practice, focusing on crafted architecture. This follows almost a decade of experience with Cox Architecture across a range of scales and project types. My experience with this influential firm included mixed-use developments, multi –residential and high-needs health projects. The down-shift in scale and practice type has crystalised my sense of the tactility of architecture. Also, the start-up nature of the practice has enabled me to have unique input into key design ideas from concept to construction detailing. I enjoy working closely with clients to ensure each element of a build is working hard to create some magic. Across all projects, the integration of landscape is critical, as is the flexible and adaptable nature of spaces.
On a broader scale, the future of our urban fabric and environment are key areas of interest. I have pursued this personally with the completion of a permaculture design certificate and testing of ideas in my own garden.
