Cath is a founding director of 1+2 Architecture.
The work of 1+2 is distinguished by environmental and social awareness, attention to detail and user satisfaction and continues to be one of the most awarded Tasmanian practices by the Australian Institute of Architects since the practice’s inception in 2002.
1+2 are passionate about Tasmania. After working interstate and overseas, all three directors returned to begin their own architectural practice & raise their families, committed to the belief that the quality of our built environment should parallel our unique natural environment.
Cath graduated from University of Tasmania in 1992 with first class honours and has been a practising registered architect since 1996. She has travelled extensively, lived and worked in New Zealand and New York and was a sole practitioner for 2 years prior to the establishment of 1+2.
Cath was a member of the AIA Tas Chapter Council for four years to 2020 and a member of the Board of Architects of Tasmania for 10 years. She is a Board of Architects registration examiner. In recent years she has been a visiting tutor and examiner at University of Tasmania, a jury member for the RAIA Tasmanian Chapter Awards and a guest lecturer and assessor at the UTas School of Architecture. In 2020 she was awarded Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects.
