Professor of Industrial DesignUniversity of New South Wales, Faculty of Built Environment
I am an industrial designer and a professor at UNSW Built Environment where I teach and do research. In my teaching, I help industrial design students build their confidence and figure out their design research directions to complete their honors graduation project. In research, I am involved in a number of co-design research projects in the areas of old age, bathroom design for the future, design & emotions, product semantics and design education; where my aim is to improve people’s lives as much as possible. In my previous role as Associate Dean of Education (2013-18), I had a substantial leadership role where I helped enhance the experience of staff and students in the faculty of Built Environment. When I am not doing any of that, I sketch, draw, make geometric jewelry, watch science fiction movies, bake or repair things.
