Jenny Culgan
Darwin Studio ManagerMODE
Jenny is a registered architect with over 20 years architectural experience in the Northern Territory. Versatility is a common trait in NT Architects and Jenny’s experience highlights this with past project works ranging from managing major urban projects to designing and coordinating remote community works with a focus on vernacular and cultural appropriate designs.
Jenny has a strong connection to the Northern Territory and would like to be part of the growth through good planning, design and implementation. Jenny challenges architects within her studio to stretch themselves in their work-life by not allowing them to sit everyday within the office. Architects need to spend time on site seeing the results of what they have drawn.
Jenny’s continued mentoring of women within her work-life includes promoting work-life balance – it’s not necessarily profession or family, it can be both. There are ways to have a successful career and a home life, it is just about how to make the juggle work.
Jenny lives on a rural block outside Darwin with her husband and four children. She is a councillor of the Australian Institute of Architects NT Chapter, is involved in many volunteer groups and enjoys growing orchids for relaxation all the while a studio manager for the Darwin office of MODE
