Amy Hallett founded Topology Studio with her partner in 2010 and brings to the practice her extensive experience in delivering projects with inherently complex and unique briefs.

Projects undertaken by Topology Studio include a number of new homes and additions situated in diverse landscapes.

The South Melbourne Beach House won the Kevin Borland Award for Small Project Architecture and a Commendation for Residential Architecture –Houses (New) in the 2017 Victorian Architecture Awards. This project was also shortlisted in the 2017 Houses Awards, and a Finalist in the 2017 Victorian Premier’s Design Awards.

Working under leading design architect’s both in Australia and abroad developed Amy’s passion for detail and high design standards. This background has shaped Topology Studio as a highly creative, design driven practice, with robust, rigorous design process.

Amy is strongly influenced by the unique attributes of each site, seeking out the qualities that contribute to a sense of place. In practice she draws on a passionate interest in art and the first hand experience of travel to ensure richness in thinking and promote meaningful exchange. Having a young family has provided new insight in designing for children in both the residential and public spheres.

Amy believes in architecture which is: responsive to the context and character of a site / responsive to the environment / enriched by a communicative, creative and analytical process / bold, sensitive and innovative / developed through a collaborative approach.
