Maia Cookson is an emerging architect, interested in the intricate nature of how people live. This translates into a passion for houses, for people and for cities.

Maia is a Project Architect with Preston Lane Architects in Tasmania. Maia’s focus is on residential projects, she works closely with clients to explore the brief, and how this translates into liveable, practical spaces that support families through time. Maia is known for her highly resolved and clever design solutions. Maia has extensive experience with the integration of heritage and takes a sensitive approach to this but also appreciates the need for progress and city growth.

Maia focuses on maintaining strong positive relationships with contractors and subcontractors throughout the construction phase as she believes this is key to successful project outcomes.

Maia has diverse experience both professionally and personally, living and working across Australia & overseas. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Architecture) from Curtin University in Perth and a Master of Architecture from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
