Caroline Kite
Architect & Co-DirectorStudio KaaKi
Caroline Kite is a Sydney-based registered architect and co-director of her own practice, Studio KaaKi. Caroline graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Masters of Architecture and has over 15 years experience working in architecture and construction in Sydney and working pro-bono in India. Prior to establishing her own firm, Caroline worked for notable companies such as Allen Jack+Cottier as a Senior Architect and as a site architect and administrator for Bellevarde Constructions. Caroline is an advocate for the profession and particularly women's participation on site. Her experience working closely on construction sites is a skill she feels strongly about imparting through her practice to younger professionals, to inspire confidence and to raise the importance of the architect's role.
Caroline believes that good design and architecture should be accessible to all and has the power to positively impact people’s lives. From 2011 to 2022, Caroline was involved with The Anganwadi Project (TAP), an Australian not-for-profit that designs and builds preschools in informal settlements in India. She lived and worked in India for 10 months to design and build two preschools, working closely with the local community and children to realise these projects. Her role within the organisation extended to Board level where she was a board member for four years and Vice President for two of those years.
Caroline has a passion for the architecture profession and supporting the upcoming generation of architects. She contributes to this through her role as EmAGN NSW Co-Chair with the Australian Institute of Architects and is a member of the NSW Chapter Council. Caroline has been a sessional tutor at the University of New South Wales and University of Sydney and contributes to design studio crits at UNSW, USYD and UTS. She is active in the community through regularly contributing to talks, exhibitions, events and publications. It is a great privilege to be a part of Marion's List, Thank You Parlour!
