Tarsha Finney is an architect and an urbanist. She is Programme Lead of the MA City Design at the Royal College of Art, London, where she also directs the Intergenerational Cities research cluster. Her research interests cross several areas: domesticity, the housing project and the role of multi-residential housing in the constitution of the city since the 19th century; architectural typology and notions of architectural disciplinary specificity and autonomy; and the architectural urbanism of innovation in cities. Tarsha is currently co-editing a special edition of the Journal of Architecture on Type and the Discourse of Urbanism, and is an invited member of the editorial board overseeing a publication on The Unfamiliar Home for the Architecture Foundation. She speaks regularly in Australia and the UK on national radio and television and writes for the general press about the issues of housing and urban density and diversity, and urban transformation.
