I am an ambitious designer and a proud Aboriginal woman. As a Gadigal woman, I hope to include our rich culture and its people in architecture. In Australia, less than 0.5% of registered architects represent as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. I believe Indigenous representation in architecture and design would add depth and diversity to Australia’s cities. In 2019, I was fortunate enough to be an Aurora Indigenous Scholar and Katrina Dawson Foundation Scholar, which allowed me to visit world-class universities such as Harvard, MIT, Berkeley, Cambridge and Oxford. I am also a 2021 New Colombo Plan Scholar with the intention of working in Japan in 2023. I would love to bring Aboriginal design to the rest of the world.
